The lead developer of Cheer Trainer is Dr. Chaz Johnson, a former Division II cheerleader and multiple UCA National Title winner during his time at Northwest Missouri State University. Graduating with a Bachelor’s in Psychology and Biopsychology, followed by a Master’s in Biology, Dr. Johnson’s academic journey culminated in a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Kansas Medical Center in May 2018. After graduation, Dr. Johnson applied his expertise in outpatient clinics, specializing in helping patients return to physically demanding occupations.
Driven by a passion to assist others in improving their physical capabilities, Dr. Johnson blended his academics and clinical experience with his dedication to cheerleading. Recognizing a resource deficit in cheerleading, Cheer Trainer was born from the desire to provide readily available training and education tailored to enhance skill performance and decrease injuries.
Dr. Johnson’s commitment extends beyond the developmental phase, as he actively engages in training and stunting to gain firsthand insights into the physical demands and areas of improvement. This hands-on approach ensures that Cheer Trainer adapts to meet the evolving needs of cheerleaders.
The dedication to excellence isn’t confined to Dr. Johnson alone; it extends to a collaborative network of coaches from All-Star programs, high schools, and colleges, along with accomplished cheerleaders from diverse backgrounds—both past and present. Together, this collective wealth of experience and expertise drives the ongoing development of Cheer Trainer, guaranteeing comprehensive support for the diverse needs of the cheerleading community.
